너무 다른 사람을 돕는 데 헌신적인 너무 선한 사람의 사망 소식을 들으면 허무하기 짝이 없습니다. Luke가 눈이 빠지도록 운 이유는 무엇일까요?
“그녀의 남편이 얼마 전에 세상을 떠났다는군”이라고 말할 때
“Her husband just passed away few days ago.”
Luke: I cried my eyes out today at work. If there is a god, why would he want to take away a good and young person with a future and kid?
Sunny: Well, I guess god must get sick of meeting all the old grandpa and grandma. He wants to have refreshing young buddy to talk to.
Luke: Don’t make jokes. There was a couple with a baby. They had been together for a year and half and the husband just passed away few days ago. They met through volunteer works in Red Cross.
Sunny: Oh, that’s sad. Poor young widow. How is she going to survive with a little baby and no husband?
Luke: 나 오늘 회사에서 눈이 빠지도록 울었어. 만약 신이 있다면 왜 미래와 아이가 있는 선하고 젊은 남자를 데리고 간 걸까?
Sunny: 흠, 신도 맨날 나이 많은 분들만 만나니까 지겨워서 젊은 사람과 대화하고 싶었나 보지.
Luke: 농담 좀 하지 마. 결혼한 지 일년 반이 된 부부가 있는데 며칠 전 남편이 세상을 떠났어. 적십자에서 봉사활동 하다가 만났대.
Sunny: 안됐네. 불쌍한 젊은 과부가 됐네. 어린 아이랑 남편도 없이 어떻게 살아갈까?
Sunny: Since I don’t know many Koreans, why don’t you please bring home your translating work so I can watch the show with you?
Luke: I promise I will. This work has changed me so much. I was just as ignorant as other foreigners but now I think that Koreans are very warm and deeply in love.
Sunny: 내가 한글을 몰라서 그러는데, 네가 번역한 것 집으로 가져와서 나하고 같이 보면 안될까?
Luke: 응 약속할게. 이 일이 나를 많이 바꾼 것 같아. 처음엔 다른 외국인처럼 한국에 대해서 무지했었는데, 지금 생각하면 한국 사람들은 마음이 따뜻하고, 사랑에도 조예가 깊은 것 같아.
