「쿠키」가 항상 맛있는 것은 아니다.
최근 많은 online advertising agency(온라인 광고 대행사)들이 cookie를 통해서 수집한 개인 정보를 외부로 유출한다는데, 오늘은 먹는 cookie가 아닌 이 말썽 많은 Internet browser cookie에 대해서 알아보도록 하자. The name 「cookie」 comes from the story of Hansel and Gretel, who marked their trail through a forest by dropping crumbs(쿠키라는 이름은 헨젤과 그레텔이 숲 속을 통과하면서 빵조각을 떨어뜨리며 그들의 지나간 자리를 표시했다는 이야기에서 유래됐다). Cookies are files which are used to store information about you and your preferences when you visit a Web site(쿠키는 개인이 웹사이트를 방문할 때, 그 개인과 개인의 선호에 대한 정보를 저장하는 데 사용되는 파일이다). So the server doesn’t have to repeatedly request this information(그래서 서버는 반복해서 이 정보를 물어 볼 필요가 없다). The problem is that some Web sites transfer personal information collected by using cookies to other Web sites without permission(문제점은 어떤 사이트에서는 쿠키를 이용해 개인정보를 모아, 다른 웹사이트에 허락 없이 넘긴다는 데 있다). If you think that their disadvantages outweigh their benefits(만약 그 단점이 그 혜택보다 크다고 생각되면), go to www.the-cloak.com and put the cloak on which can hide your identity(www.the-cloak.com에 가서 너의 정체를 숨길 수 있는 망토를 입어라).
